Death Mask

The film follows Wilbur, who works in an old carnival where he showcases gruesome attractions. With a traumatic past marked by a sadistic father, he wears a mask to hide his disfigurement. After being fired by his new boss, Wilbur seeks the help of a swamp witch, who provides him with a piece of wood from a hanging tree.

Wilbur carves a mask from this wood and channels his anger into it. When he wears the mask, anyone who looks at him falls victim to suicide, amplifying the horror of his existence. With a cast that includes James Best and Linnea Quigley, Death Mask combines elements of a carnival setting with supernatural themes, making it a unique entry in the horror genre.
