Demolition High is a pretty interesting entry in the 90s action genre, even if it doesn't have a widely known director steering the ship. The film has this gritty, almost chaotic atmosphere as it dives into the tense situation of a high school takeover by terrorists. The pacing is what you'd expect for action flicks of its time—sometimes dragging a bit but often punctuated by surprising moments of intensity. Lenny, played by an earnest lead, and his band of students take on a rather heavy responsibility, battling the odds while the authorities try to step in. While the practical effects aren’t groundbreaking, they add a certain charm. It’s definitely a slice of that era, with performances that range from decent to just, well, enthusiastically over-the-top.
Features a mix of student heroics and adult interventionRepresents a niche in 90s action cinemaInteresting blend of tension and youthful resilience
