Die Legende der Maske

The film follows archaeologist Katja Bennecke as she leads an excavation at a Mayan pyramid. During her work, she uncovers the legendary mask of Gonzalo Guerrero, a Spanish warrior who became a general under the Majas. However, the discovery leads to conflict when her colleague attempts to steal the mask, resulting in dire consequences.

As the plot unfolds, Katja's daughter Maren unexpectedly arrives and is soon kidnapped. The kidnappers demand the mask in exchange for Maren's release, forcing Katja into a desperate situation where she must take on the role of a thief to save her daughter.
