The film follows Marija, a Ukrainian caregiver working in Germany, who looks after Curt, an elderly man with dementia. As Curt's daughter is temporarily unavailable, he starts to believe that Marija is his late wife. To maintain Curt’s comfort, Marija goes along with this misbelief, which leads to unexpected dynamics, especially with Curt's son, who shows interest in Marija.
