Dirty Dancing (2017) captures that nostalgic summer vibe, though it strays from the original's magic. Set in a Catskills resort, you get that sense of youthful innocence mixed with the thrill of forbidden romance. Frances, or Baby, portrayed with a refreshing charm, finds herself drawn to the rugged dance instructor, Johnny, who’s got this raw energy about him. The pacing feels off at times; it lingers just enough to let you soak in the atmosphere, but sometimes it rushes through key moments. The performances are solid, though they lack the spark of the original cast. It’s interesting how they tackle themes of class and self-discovery, but it feels like the heart of the story sometimes gets overshadowed by the modern updates. Still, there’s something to be said about its take on dance and love in a summer setting.
Remake of the classic 1987 film.Focus on modern themes of class and self-discovery.Dancing scenes offer a different choreography style.
