Doll Graveyard is an interesting little horror that dives into some pretty dark themes, especially for a film from 2005. The atmosphere has this unsettling quality, with Sophia's big, creepy house almost feeling like a character in itself. The pacing is deliberate, building tension as her relationship with her dolls takes a sinister turn. The practical effects used to bring the dolls to life β or death β are surprisingly effective, adding to the overall eeriness. The story touches on childhood trauma and abuse, which is pretty heavy for a film you might expect to be just campy. Charles Band manages to create a unique tone that lingers, making it stand out from typical horror fare.
