Domain is one of those films that creeps up on you. It explores isolation in a really stripped-down way, showcasing a world ravaged by a virus. The survivors, stuck in their bunker, connect through video screens which somehow creates this odd, makeshift family dynamic. It's not your typical thriller – more of a slow burn. The performances are raw and authentic, capturing the despair and hope that bubbles beneath the surface. There’s this interesting contrast between the sterile, clinical setting of the bunkers and the emotional weight of their conversations. Practical effects here are minimal but effective, lending a sense of realism to the dystopian atmosphere. You feel the weight of time as they wait, which is both haunting and captivating.
