Doubles

Set in small-town Trinidad, Doubles follows Dhani, a young man in his early 20s, who feels out of place among his friends. While he spends his nights at bars, he also works with his mother, Sumintra, selling Doubles, a popular Trinidadian street food. They share a common dream of opening their own restaurant, which drives the narrative forward.

The film takes a turn when Dhani is faced with personal challenges, including humiliation and a robbery that pushes him to confront his estranged father, Ragbir, who owns the land they wish to claim. This journey to Toronto sets the stage for conflict and resolution, highlighting the complexities of family relationships and aspirations.
