Dragon in Fury is one of those films that fits snugly into the early 2000s action genre but has a certain rawness to it. Chen Jun, played by Dragon Shek, digs deep into the underbelly of Shanghai after the death of his master, and you can feel the tension building. The pacing is relentless—once he starts investigating, it's like the action never really lets up. The fight choreography, especially with Gordon Liu’s involvement, has a gritty realism that makes it stand out. There’s a palpable sense of revenge that drives the narrative, and while the story isn't groundbreaking, the practical effects and the intensity of the performances really pull you in. It's got that underground vibe, where you can tell the filmmakers were passionate about every punch thrown.
