"Drop" is one of those quirky gems that captures the chaotic essence of youth in the 80s. Hiroshi, our main guy, is an intriguing blend of rebellion and innocence as he navigates the world of delinquency after ditching his private school. The film's pacing is a bit erratic, much like Hiroshi’s journey; it’s all over the place but somehow feels right. The comedy and action mesh together in a way that feels almost spontaneous. You can tell it's not a big-budget production, yet the practical effects hold up surprisingly well, giving it this raw feel. The performances, particularly the gang members, strike a chord because they’re so relatable in their antics. It’s distinctive for its oddball charm and the way it reflects the struggles of adolescence in a way that's both humorous and poignant.
