Dumpster is this strange little gem from 2005 that dives into the lives of two very different characters. Jim, the janitor, is really an everyman type, caught up in the monotony of life and adult obligations, while Francis is this wealthy frat boy who’s found some bizarre refuge in a dumpster. The film explores themes of privilege and responsibility, set against the backdrop of an elite university that feels almost suffocating. The pacing is slow, but it gives you time to really sit with the characters and their struggles. The performances are solid, especially the awkwardness between Jim and Francis. There's something gritty about it, and that low-budget feel only enhances its raw emotional impact, making it distinctive in its own right.
Low-budget production adds to its authenticity.Interesting character study on class and responsibility.Unique setting in an elite university.
