The story follows Stan Herd, who in 1994 traveled from Kansas to Manhattan's Upper West Side to create a massive earthwork on land owned by Donald Trump. This multi-acre artwork was crafted using soil, rock, plants, and vegetation, showcasing Herd's unique rural art form against an urban backdrop.

In his quest, Stan recruited homeless individuals living near an underground railway tunnel to assist in the project. Throughout the months of labor, he faced numerous challenges that tested his resolve and commitment to his art.
