Egoli: The Movie

The film centers on Niek and Joe, who have a tumultuous history stemming from their experiences during the Angola War in the late 1980s. As they navigate their present lives, Joe finds himself entangled in the nefarious activities of his employer, TJ Mokoena. This leads to a series of unfortunate events that threaten his already precarious situation as a divorced man.

Compounding Joe's troubles is his relationship with his girlfriend Peggy, who grows increasingly frustrated with his reliance on her financial support. Niek, who also grapples with his war-related demons, becomes Joe's last lifeline in a world that seems to be closing in on them. The film captures the struggles of its characters as they confront their pasts and attempt to find redemption in their present lives.
