The film portrays the story of student love in the difficult times of the 1940s. A group of classmates, passionate about jazz, come together to form a band in the villa of their expelled friend Paddy, who faces discrimination due to his mixed heritage. As they navigate their love lives and the challenges posed by the Protectorate, their determination to perform leads to a concert that risks severe consequences.

The narrative highlights the struggles of young people during World War II, showcasing their desire to have fun and express themselves through music. Zuzana, a pivotal character whose parents are in a concentration camp, falls in love with Paddy, and together they face the dangers of their reality. The tension escalates as their high school principal imposes restrictions on public performances, but Zuzana's clever plan allows them to hold their concert, albeit at a significant cost.
