This film follows Subiekt Jurek, who unexpectedly finds himself at a ball hosted by the bankrupt industrialist Porecki. Mistaken for Chelmonski's counselor, Jurek navigates a web of deception involving Ania's wealthy suitor, Kracht, who turns out to be a fraud.
