The story follows Alfonso, a retiree who visits Nanda, an elderly woman he views as a mother figure, at a residence where a young social worker named Luisa works. During a morning outing to collect snails in the Prado de las Estrellas, Alfonso encounters a young cyclist, leading to an unexpected friendship.

As their bond develops, Alfonso takes it upon himself to mentor the promising young cyclist, Martin, encouraging him to pursue his potential in the sport without the aid of equipment or sponsors.
