This film is structured into four segments. In "Arroz e Feijão" (Rice and Beans), a boarding-house owner seduces her young tenant. "As Três Virgens" (The Three Virgins) follows three spinsters influenced by their teenage niece. In "O Arremate" (The Purchase), a father offers his virgin daughter to a landowner to settle debts. Lastly, "Vereda Tropical" (Tropical Trail) depicts a man's bizarre obsession with a watermelon.
