The story begins in hell, where the devil's apprentice Vašek loses the book of sins. In his frantic search, he finds a pair of shoes that transport him to the human realm. However, he loses the shoes, which fall into the hands of a village boy named Jiřík, inadvertently bringing him to hell. This unexpected twist creates chaos as Lucifer faces the unusual situation of an innocent child in his realm and an inexperienced apprentice left behind.
