Escape to Paradise

The film centers on Sehmuz, his wife Delal, and their three children who have fled Turkey in search of safety. They find temporary shelter in an asylum center alongside other refugees from Africa and Eastern Europe. This setting serves as a backdrop for exploring themes of survival, identity, and the complexities of seeking asylum.

As Sehmuz encounters challenges in convincing the authorities of their plight, he turns to his Kurdish compatriot Aziz for assistance. Aziz suggests that Sehmuz create a more credible narrative, leading him to pawn family jewels to afford a biography that he must memorize for their interview. The film poignantly illustrates the lengths to which families will go to secure a better future amid uncertainty and hardship.
