Everest Turbo - La Tentation

The documentary follows Eric Escoffier and the Turbo team as they aim to complete a challenging ascent of Everest. The project includes a medical experiment designed to study how the body acclimatizes to high altitudes. The team undertakes a rigorous training regimen at Mont Blanc and in a hypobaric chamber to prepare for their climb.

Despite their preparations, the team faced significant obstacles, including bad weather that prevented them from carrying out their ascent. The expedition reached Everest base camp in China on September 2, 1989, but ultimately could not achieve their goal. This documentary provides a unique perspective on the physical and mental demands of high-altitude climbing and the scientific insights gained from such endeavors.
