Evil Never Dies is one of those TV movies that really leans into its horror elements. Directed by Uli Edel, the film has a gritty atmosphere, enhanced by the college campus setting that feels both eerie and claustrophobic. The pacing can be uneven at times, but I think it builds a nice tension as the plot unfolds. The idea of resurrecting a condemned murderer as part of an experiment brings up some interesting moral dilemmas. The performances are solid, especially the lead policeman, who grapples with his own demons throughout the film. The practical effects when things get gory are impressive for a TV film of its time. It’s a unique blend of thriller and supernatural horror that has its own distinct flavor.
Strong premise with moral undertonesInteresting take on resurrection themesNot your typical TV horror flick
