Eyewitness (2015) is a tense thriller that captures the raw, unpredictable nature of a mother-daughter bond against a backdrop of danger. The setup is simple yet effective: a weekend getaway turns into a fight for survival when three escaped convicts cross their path. The pacing is fairly tight, with a slow burn that builds to some genuinely suspenseful moments. Fred Olen Ray injects a certain grittiness into the atmosphere, which, paired with practical effects, enhances the tension without excessive reliance on CGI. The performances, particularly between the leads, feel genuine and layered, giving the film a bit more depth than typical TV movies of the time. It’s not groundbreaking, but there's something interesting about how it navigates fear and resilience.
