Fatal Frames is an odd little gem from Al Festa that mixes horror with the world of music videos. It has this eerie, almost dreamlike atmosphere that really sets it apart. The practical effects are surprisingly solid for a low-budget flick, and the editing style gives it a frenetic energy that complements the chaos unfolding on screen. The performances can be hit or miss, but Alex Ritt's portrayal of a director caught in a deadly game feels genuine enough, pulling you deeper into the mystery. The killer's voyeuristic angle adds a layer of unsettling commentary about fame and exploitation, which is interesting. It's a film that lingers in the back of your mind, even if it stumbles in places.
