Fate

Fate follows the story of a saint on the brink of canonization, whose icon lacks a face. Local legend suggests that the saint once left his icon to visit a fair and subsequently felt shame over his actions, never returning. The narrative unfolds through the eyes of a writer who uncovers the truth behind the saint's identity and the community's dark secrets.

As the writer investigates, he discovers that a painter was commissioned to create the saint's portrait, but his troubled lifestyle led to a misattribution of the saint's disgraceful acts.
