This film follows the life of Maiju Lassila, born in 1868, highlighting his early years and adult life filled with political intrigue and literary ambition. After causing the assassination of a high-ranking Czarist, Lassila's life becomes a blend of activism and reclusion, forcing him to hide in Finland.

Despite his revolutionary actions, he leads a life marked by poverty and anonymity, teaching school while writing under various pseudonyms. Asko Sarkola leads the cast, portraying the complexities of a man torn between his ideals and the need for safety. This drama not only explores the personal struggles of a writer but also reflects the tumultuous political landscape of the time.
