Flowers in the Shadow

The story follows Shinya, a man burdened by gambling debts who attempts to scam an elderly woman. However, as he interacts with her, he is reminded of his late mother, leading to a complex relationship. Shinya also helps a girl named Hisako search for an unsuccessful comedian her mother once loved, which adds another layer to the narrative.

Meanwhile, Shinya's father, Ryutaro, faces his own struggles, becoming disowned by Shinya after his wife’s death. Ryutaro encounters a homeless man named Moses, and their meeting leads to significant changes in both their lives. The film examines how various characters navigate their personal hardships while forming unexpected connections with one another, all set against the backdrop of Tokyo's urban landscape.
