Fluid Border is quite an interesting watch, straddling that line between comedy and drama. The premise is unique – you’ve got this bureaucratic mess in the middle of a lake, a literal border that’s supposed to be set in stone, only to be tossed by a storm. The performances of the land surveyors really capture that mix of absurdity and human emotion as they navigate their own biases amidst the chaos. The pacing is a bit uneven at times, but it adds to the quirky charm. What stands out is how it subtly critiques the absurdities of division and the sometimes ridiculous nature of authority, which feels particularly poignant given its historical context.
