The story follows Freddie Horne, who is content in his role at a women's fashion magazine until his fiancée's jealousy prompts him to switch jobs. He joins the Puritan Magazine Group, which claims to promote family values. However, he soon discovers that the organization's chief executive, Miles Fanthorpe, is not what he seems. Fanthorpe's country house is a hub of scantily-clad women and clandestine publications, creating a comedic clash between appearances and reality.
