Free State of Jones

Set in 1863, Free State of Jones follows Newt Knight, a Confederate Army medic disillusioned with the institution of slavery. After the death of his nephew in battle, Knight deserts and returns home, only to be declared an outlaw. He then joins forces with runaway slaves and fellow farmers to launch a rebellion that challenges the Confederate establishment in Jones County, Mississippi.
