So this one is a bit of an oddball. Robert Newman takes the stage and really digs into some heavy themes. He weaves comedy with a documentary style, almost like a humorous lecture on humanitarian interventions over the last 500 years. The pacing is quite brisk, keeping you engaged while he juggles historical events and modern-day critiques. There's a rawness to it, a sort of DIY vibe, especially considering it’s from a live festival setting. And the atmosphere? It’s both entertaining and thought-provoking, making you laugh while also making you think about the implications of capitalist expansion. Definitely not your typical stand-up routine, that's for sure.
