From Seoul to Varanasi

Youngwu and Jiyoung have been married for a decade but have grown distant. Youngwu, a publisher, is involved with a writer, while Jiyoung, feeling unfulfilled as a housewife, finds herself drawn to Kerim, a gentle young Muslim. When he must leave the country, Jiyoung decides to follow him to Varanasi, leaving behind a note for her husband that she's visiting relatives.

As Jiyoung wanders along the Ganges and through the vibrant streets of Varanasi, her husband Youngwu is shocked to see her on television, covered in ashes after a terrorist bombing. This revelation prompts him to travel to India in search of his wife, seeking an explanation for her unexpected choices. The film presents a poignant exploration of personal connections and the lengths individuals will go to for love and understanding.
