Gamani

The plot centers around a remote village in Sri Lanka that faces a tragic terrorist attack resulting in the massacre of fifty-seven individuals. The local Home guards, poorly trained and unorganized, are unable to provide adequate defense. A determined female voluntary teacher persuades an army Major, who is nearing retirement, to take on the responsibility of training the Home guards.

As the Major mobilizes the army to train the guards, they become a strong force capable of protecting the village from future attacks. The film emphasizes themes of courage, duty, and community resilience in the face of adversity. With a cast that includes Dilhani Ekanayake, Bimal Jayakody, Veena Jayakody, and Sanath Gunathilake, "Gamani" presents a poignant narrative about bravery and sacrifice during turbulent times.
