Garnelius

The story follows 17-year-old Karl, who lives with his father, Werner, in a cramped East Berlin apartment. He has an eight-year-old brother, David, who resides in a sheltered housing group. Karl struggles to provide the support David needs, as their father is unable to fulfill that role. The narrative takes a fantastical turn when Karl unexpectedly lays an egg, leading him to care for the hatching creature with determination.
