Genius Against Violence

The film centers on Van Duylen, a representative of a diamond syndicate who brings the Koh-I-Noor II, the largest diamond found, to Amsterdam. The story unfolds in one of the city's oldest diamond-cutting establishments where the massive stone is cleft into nine smaller polished diamonds. These stones are then secured in Van Duylen's burglar-proof safe, which he claims is equipped with electrical charges to deter thieves.

As tension mounts, the film introduces two suspicious characters, Jack the Acrobat and the lion-tamer Feenstra, who begin to inspect Van Duylen's villa. Their intentions are unclear, creating a sense of suspense as they prowl around the premises, raising the stakes for Van Duylen and his valuable possession. With its focus on crime and the drama surrounding the diamond, this film highlights the themes of greed and protection in the early 20th century.
