The film follows George Kutty, a diligent student who graduates at the top of his engineering class. Despite his academic achievements, his family's past wealth has dwindled, leaving them in significant debt. When his father seeks a marriage match with a wealthy family, George Kutty reluctantly agrees to misrepresent their financial situation to secure the alliance.

After the marriage, George Kutty faces humiliation and control from his in-laws, particularly from his father-in-law, Itechan.
