The story follows Matt, who becomes fixated on life after death following the tragic loss of his fiancée, Emma. Over seven years, he and his brother, Michael, investigate over one hundred Ghost House cases throughout the U.S., but their search yields nothing but disappointment.

As hope wanes, Matt learns about the elusive GH5, a phenomenon linked to the highest levels of paranormal activity. His investigation takes an unexpected turn when his brother CJ returns home from military service, seeking to mend their fractured relationship. The brothers embark on the investigation together, but they soon find themselves entangled in a night filled with deceit, loss, and survival as the paranormal becomes undeniably real.
