So, 'Gifted' is an interesting blend of comedy and drama that really captures the complexity of family dynamics. You have Frank, a single guy, and this brilliant little girl, Mary, who's like a math prodigy or something. Their bond is sweet but, oh boy, it gets complicated when his mother enters the scene, pushing for custody. The pacing is pretty solid; it balances the heartfelt moments with lighter, more humorous bits. The performances are quite strong, especially McKenna Grace as Mary—she really brings that spark. The film explores themes of nurturing talent versus letting a child be a child, which is something I think a lot of collectors would appreciate. Not flashy in its effects, but the realistic touch makes it relatable.
Strong character development throughout.Focuses on the emotional stakes of parenting.Interesting take on genius and childhood.
