G.I.T. on Broadway

G.I.T. on Broadway is a musical revue produced by Motown Productions, highlighting two of the label's most famous acts. The special was filmed in front of a live audience and originally broadcast on NBC on November 12, 1969. This production followed the success of the previous special, TCB, and included primarily Broadway showtunes, creating a nostalgic experience for fans of the genre.

The hour-long program features performances by Diana Ross, Mary Wilson, Cindy Birdsong, Otis Williams, Eddie Kendricks, and Melvin Franklin. A soundtrack album titled On Broadway was released in conjunction with the special, although it did not produce any singles in the United States. However, "The Rhythm of Life" gained popularity in Australia, reaching the Top 20. G.I.T. on Broadway represents a significant moment in the careers of its stars, particularly as it aired shortly before Diana Ross's departure from The Supremes to pursue her solo career.
