God of Gamblers is one of those unique blends of action, comedy, and drama that Wong Jing nails with a certain charm. You’ve got Ko Chun, a top-notch gambler, caught in this bizarre twist of fate—he loses his memory and reverts to childlike behavior. It’s a wild setup, and Little Knife, this scrappy amateur, is a great foil. The film juggles a whimsical tone, especially in those early scenes of Ko Chun stumbling through life. The pacing is brisk, keeping you engaged, and the gambling scenes have a certain flair. You can’t help but appreciate the performances, particularly from Chow Yun-fat, who brings this strange mix of innocence and skill. It’s a curious character study wrapped in casino chaos, really.
