So, 'Guidance' is this offbeat comedy that plays around with darker themes of deception and escapism. The lead, played by Pat Mills, really nails that chaotic vibe of a washed-up child star who just can’t get his act together. It’s kind of a mashup of absurdity and unexpected moments where he somehow becomes this unlikely mentor, but his advice is hilariously terrible. The pacing feels a bit uneven, which adds to that wild, unpredictable nature. The cinematography captures this quirky, almost grimy high school atmosphere that just enhances the whole feel of the film. It’s not your typical feel-good story, more of a reprobate take on the whole guidance counselor trope - definitely has its charm if you’re into that kind of humor.
