The film follows Juan, a young man from Altamira, Tamaulipas, who arrives in the capital and faces immediate challenges when he is assaulted by Gus. Struggling financially with only ten dollars, Juan finds himself living with Gus, who becomes his representative in the music scene. As Juan dedicates himself to singing, he experiences success on stage and radio with Susana, although their relationship is complicated by her desire for independence.

As Susana pursues her own career in Guadalajara and faces setbacks, Juan remains supportive. Their relationship takes a turn when Susana falls ill, leading her to reconsider her feelings and ultimately agree to marry Juan. This film captures the emotional highs and lows of love intertwined with the pursuit of fame.
