Hafar Al-Batin

The film centers on Iraqi army men who were buried alive in their shelters during a confrontation with occupying forces in the Hafar al-Batin border area. This story is significant as it marks the first Iraqi feature to address the Second Gulf War. Notably, the film features a cast that includes Fawzia Hassan, Nizar Al-Samarayi, and Kadhim Al-Quraishiy, along with the involvement of Iraqi military units.

Filming took place primarily in Habbaniyah, with production beginning in the spring of 2000. Approximately 50 actors and 200 military personnel contributed to the film, capturing the gravity of the situation faced by soldiers. Initially, the film was titled The Longest Day in History before it was renamed to its current title.

Despite its historical significance, Hafar Al-Batin was not permitted to be screened due to a lack of approval from Iraqi President Saddam Hussein. This ban adds to the film's story, reflecting the political environment at the time of its production.
