The practical effects, while not groundbreaking, are effective in conveying the surreal undertones of the story. Nick Rast's internal struggle and Sandy's emotional turmoil are portrayed with a rawness that feels genuine. And then there's Doc Wheelan, this old-school antagonist who's just wonderfully grotesque, representing the monstrous side of power. It’s not your average healer tale, that’s for sure.
