So, Harlequin… it's a real blend of drama, fantasy, and horror that does a lot of things right. The pacing feels a bit uneven at times, which somehow adds to its eerie charm. The atmosphere is thick with tension, especially with the character of Gregory Wolfe, who brings this unsettling energy that’s both captivating and creepy. The practical effects, while not groundbreaking, are effective in conveying the surreal undertones of the story. Nick Rast's internal struggle and Sandy's emotional turmoil are portrayed with a rawness that feels genuine. And then there's Doc Wheelan, this old-school antagonist who's just wonderfully grotesque, representing the monstrous side of power. It’s not your average healer tale, that’s for sure.
Strong themes of power and morality.Interesting character dynamics.Notable practical effects for its time.
