So, 'Heart and Yummie' is an interesting watch, for sure. It spins a quirky tale about Heart, this T-Rex raised by a herbivore mom, which just sets a unique tone right off the bat. The animation style has this whimsical feel that contrasts the dinosaur theme nicely. Once Heart discovers his carnivorous nature, the story shifts, and he becomes this reluctant father figure for this baby ankylosaurus he names Yummie – kind of ironic given his instincts. There’s a certain charm in the way the story unfolds, with themes of identity and family layered in. The pacing feels a bit uneven at times, but there’s something refreshing about its approach to dinosaur lore, keeping it light-hearted yet thoughtful. Definitely an odd gem in the family animation genre.
