Hell to Eternity

The film follows Guy Gabaldon, a Hispanic boy from Los Angeles who grows up in a Japanese-American foster family. After the attack on Pearl Harbor, Gabaldon's foster family is sent to the Manzanar internment camp. In response, he enlists in the Marines, where his fluency in Japanese plays a crucial role during the Battle of Saipan.
