The plot follows Solomon Ginsberg, the President of International Pictures Corporation, who hires Joan McAllister, an unemployed stenographer, to double for his star, Laura Girard. After Laura's tragic death in an automobile accident, Ginsberg persuades Joan to take on the deceased actress's identity to salvage the film project.
