Hidden Children

The film depicts the journey of forty Jewish children trying to reach Palestine, blocked by the German and Italian occupation of Yugoslavia in 1941. After spending months in Slovenia, they eventually find refuge at Villa Emma in Nonantola, Italy, starting from June 17, 1942. The narrative highlights the struggles and adventures these children faced during this tumultuous period.

As the story unfolds, more children join the group, making their way from various parts of Europe, all escaping the devastation of concentration camps. With ages ranging from six to twenty-one, these orphans are guided by chaperones and teachers, including Josef Indig and Marco Schoky. Hidden Children captures a significant chapter in history through the eyes of its young protagonists, making it a poignant drama.
