So, 'Hip Moves' is one of those films that kinda slips through the cracks. It’s got this really somber tone, you know? Hervé, the main guy, is a lonely soul—like, he really brings that vibe home after getting fired from the zoo. The whole self-defense class thing adds an interesting layer to his character, but he’s basically just stuck in this monotonous life. The pacing feels almost meditative as he observes his colleagues and their odd love life. It’s not flashy, but there’s something about the atmosphere that draws you in slowly. Performances are understated which works well given the material. It’s definitely more of a character study, and those little quirks make it stand out in a sea of drama.
