Honor First

The film follows twin brothers serving in the French army during the Great War. Jacques, a private, must lead his brother Honoré's company after Honoré panics and flees. In a twist of fate, Jacques wins a vital victory while wearing Honoré's coat and is mistakenly decorated for gallantry in his brother's name.

As Jacques assumes Honoré's identity, he travels to Paris and encounters Honoré, leading to a serious disagreement. The plot thickens as Honoré seeks to have Jacques killed, but fate intervenes and Honoré meets his own demise instead. Jacques ultimately finds solace with Moira, Honoré's wife, who is trapped in a loveless marriage.
