Ice Poison

Ice Poison tells the story of a young farmer and his father struggling to survive on a meager corn harvest. Their journey takes them down from the mountains to seek help from relatives involved in jade mining and opium production. However, they find themselves entangled in a web of deceit and corruption, exacerbating their poverty.

In a pivotal turn, the father pawns his cow to buy a moped, enabling his son to work as a taxi driver. His first passenger is Sanmei, who has returned to Myanmar to bury her grandfather. Faced with the pressures of an arranged marriage, she chooses to stay in Myanmar and start anew with her son. When Sanmei offers the young farmer a job as a drug runner, their paths intertwine, leading to significant consequences for both.
